Description
Currently, withholding tax obligations on payments made to non-residents remains one of Singapore’s corporate tax compliance focuses by IRAS. Unfortunately, our withholding tax provisions impose various penalties and fines on companies for failure to account for withholding tax properly. Ignorance of your withholding tax obligations is no longer an excuse to seek a waiver for penalties and fines for non-compliance with the withholding tax provisions.
This workshop aims to provide you with a basic framework to understand the Singapore withholding tax provisions. You will be equipped with a template that outlines your organisation’s withholding tax obligations so that you can avoid common pitfalls of non-compliance.
Key Topics Covered:
- Different types of payments to non-residents that are subject to Singapore withholding tax
- Withholding tax obligations for Singapore payers under Income Tax Act
- Meaning of “payments to non-residents” for Singapore withholding tax purposes
- Common pitfalls for Singapore payers on non-compliance with the Singapore withholding tax obligations
This workshop is part of the Taxation Suite and is eligible for a 10% off workshop fees for sign-ups of 2 or more workshops in the suite.
