Description
Any business that holds electronic information is exposed to the risk of a cyber attack. The reality of doing business in the 21st century is that data breaches can and will happen – whether the attack is made from the web or by an insider in your organisation.
It is estimated that such attacks cost the Australian business community hundreds of millions. For the individual business, the average time to resolve a cyber attack is more than three weeks and the average cost of such an attack is more than $276,000 (staysmartonline.gov.au)
Of course, your business is not average and, given how connected all our businesses are – and the worldwide trend toward higher legal liability for data breaches - robust data security is more important than ever.
The good news is that there are some simple ways to reduce the likelihood and impact of such attacks. Implementing even a small number of these methods can halt some attacks before they launch.
This 60-minute webinar will help you with strategies to help prevent cyber attacks, limit the extent of cyber crime incidents and mitigate the cost of these attacks. This requires that you understand how to recover your data and keep the business running in this time of crisis.
This webinar will be delivered by Dr. Micheal Axelsen FCPA. Micheal is a Lecturer in Business Information Systems at the University of Queensland (UQ) and partners with CPA Australia to educate members about IT management. Micheal is a lecturer in IT governance and management in UQ’s leading MBA program. His research interests include intelligent decision aids, information systems audit (including data governance) and business process management.
Joining Micheal with some real life cyber claims examples will be Mr. Drew Fenton CPA, Managing Director, Fenton Green and co and Gavan Ord, Manager Business Investment Policy, CPA Australia.
Fenton Green is CPA Australia’s preferred broker and partners with CPA Australia to educate members about risk management.
